After her national TV debut on Fox’s “The Four,” Stelle Amor teamed up with London’s legendary producer Ian Barter and Nashville’s top songwriters to create her most honest and epic record yet!

To be released April 17th, 2020, “Gateway Drug” is the first single to drop and displays a beautiful balance of sultry and soulful.

The song dives into the bittersweetness of young love and the vices that come with it.

Working with Deanna Walker and Rick Beresford, songwriters who have been at the heart of the Nashville music machine for over 20 years, it was a fast flow to take real-life stories and shape them into art. Fun and catchy, yet raw and real, this tune will have you head boppin’ and singing along.

“I actually made the music video for this song myself along with my amazing team,” says Stelle – “shout outs to Moily Lott, Mackenzie Steele, and of course Dr. Dave.  I really wanted the visuals to match the vibe of the music production and how alive but trippy it all feels.  The footage from the fair was actually not intended to be used for anything, but when I found it I felt it was meant to be.”

Go into detail on why you decided to choose music as a career.

I consider myself to be more of an artist than a musician.

To me, it’s about the entire picture and experience of what I’m trying to express, and the music is just a piece of that.

.

.

.

Brief us on the feedback you are getting from fans on your music.

The messages from my fans really make my day – the love and support are just amazing.

I haven’t released anything new in a while so I’m curious what everyone is going to think about the new tunes.

.

.

.

Discuss the relevance of social networking to music.

To me the point of music is to bring connection and social networking is just a way to connect as well!

.

.

.

Tell us how you recorded your song.

My producer Ian Barter worked on the track in London and then I worked on recording vocals with Deanna Walker and Rick Beresford who also helped write the song.

.

.

.

Tell us the story behind the song.

This song is more like a bunch of experiences strung together than one specific story.

.

.

.

State your musical skills.

Singing and songwriting are my core skills – I also play guitar, piano, and ukulele but I prefer to use a band when I do shows; I just play for fun and write.

.

.

.

Tell us how long it takes to complete a song from the start.

Every song is truly a unique experience to create – some flow right out- others really take time to process and develop but there’s no right or wrong when it comes to songwriting you just do.

.

.

.

Go into detail on how you develop your lyrics and melody.

In the case of this record, it was a collaboration. Nashville is all about co-writing and that’s why it makes the best songs.

For me, the more minds the merrier if the songwriting group can flow well together and I’m blessed to flow effortlessly with my team. I think honesty is key so I always base things off real-life events or shenanigans.

.

.

.

Discuss music in full detail.

I’ve always been intrigued by vibrations and their magical powers to affect people’s mood and energy.

I think it is super-beautiful to be able to communicate an emotion with a chord progression or an intention with your timbre.

I always try my best as an artist to really focus my intentions on the emotion or story being told and channel my energy into that so that people can fully feel what I’m trying to express.

.

.

.

State your five favourite genres of music with reasons.

Soul/Blues/Rock, Alternative/Indie, Pop, Electronic(trip/pop), Folk/Americana — ha-ha…

I fall in love with songs and artists more than genres – being a millennial we got spoiled to be able to stream anything and everything placing my favourite songs all over the map.  I think that’s what inspires me to be the eclectic artist that I am.

.

.

.

Discuss your rehearsal.

It totally depends on what it’s for. I’ve had a 12-piece band and then I’ve had just me and the people in the band really determine what kind of rehearsal it’s going to be.

.

.

.

State your favourite musical instruments.

I really love horns! My first record was very horn-heavy however after learning the hard way how hard it is to pay for a big band, I’ve since backed away from including them on every track and now just save them…

.

.

.

Describe the chemistry between you and your fans during a live performance.

Awe I love my fans, every show and venue lends for a different experience but it’s my favourite when we can dance together.

.

.

.

Discuss your personality in full detail.

It’s always hard to describe oneself because I feel like I’m just an eclectic soul.

People often say I’m bubbly, bright, free-spirited.

.

.

.

Discuss your musical experience with others.

I’m so grateful for all the amazing people I’ve gotten to collaborate with throughout my career- hit songwriters- prolific producers- visionary artist. It’s one of the most rewarding experiences to create something from nothing.

.

.

.

List your musical work.

So right now, I have two EP’s out and 4 singles including Gateway Drug and my collaborations.

Along with my Stelle Amor project, I also have a trip-pop trio Side Tripp- our song “Maze” made it into the ABC show Grownish.

I have 7 more songs ready to release that I’ve made with the same team as “Gateway Drug.” It’s wild to think about all the songs I’ve written in my life- shoot really since I’ve lived in Nashville 100’s – I’m going to be spending the rest of my life trying to figure out what to do with all my creations while continuing to make more.

.

.

.

Share your memorable experiences with us.

My reality TV experience and sharing a stage with Fergie is something I’ll never forget. Shout out to The Four on Fox for having me.

.

.

.

Elaborate on your artist’s name.

Stelle Amor- it means star love – which I thought fit perfectly for me because light and love are everything I stand for.

.

.

.

Elaborate on the song.

Gateway Drug – this song is talking about falling in love with a wild child and all the dangers and excitement that come in a rebel’s romance.

.

.

.

Tell us about your future works.

I have a collection of singles coming out this year that I worked on with the same team but as of now we aren’t necessarily releasing them as a full record.
